I just completed my 8th year coaching in the Medford School District.  I served as a 7th grade boys basketball coach my first year with Toby Anderson, one year as the boys freshmen coach, three years as the boys JV coach, and the past 3 years as the varsity head coach.

I love coaching because I love building positive relationships with student athletes and helping to guide them to be successful adults.  I think sports teach character, hard work, and lots of life lessons.  I have always had a passion for the game of basketball both as a player and as a coach. I make it my goal to learn and improve at my craft (coaching/leading) every single day.

I have many great coaching memories in a short amount of time.  Some of them involve coaching in the Medford program and others involve coaching my little brother and his AAU team.  I have been fortunate enough to coach many different players and see them grow from middle school until their senior year.  One specific memory happened during the '14-'15 season.  We had a great group of seniors who worked very hard, had great attitudes, and always served their teammates.  Most times this happened from the bench, but there was never a complaint.  I had them starting vs the Nekoosa Papermakers on Senior Night.  The seniors played the entire first quarter and finished the quarter only giving up 1 point.  Most recently the game vs Hortonville in the 16-17 Regional Final was amazing.  We were down 22 points in the second half and from the outside it looked like the game was over. BUT I knew the group that I was coaching would NEVER GIVE UP.  They were truly RELENTLESS and kept on fighting.  We went on a run that I have never seen before and I don't think anybody in this town that saw the game will ever forget.  We came all the way back, closing the gap within minutes, to win the regional championship and send ourselves into the sectionals.

In 2009 I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse.  My fiance at the time, Kristyn, got a job in the Medford School District as a kindergarten teacher.  I subbed and then a year later I got a job as a special education teacher and my fiance and I were married.  We now have been happily married for 7 years and have a son named Henry (4), a daughter named Eloise (1) , and a miniature dachshund named Frank!  I love spending time with my family, being involved with my church, and watching and supporting my younger siblings in their sports and activities.  I would like to thank my wife, son, daughter, and other family members for all of the support and patience they give to me daily.
